The Chairman, Procurement Committee of University of Jaffna now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the following works.

  1. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding Procedure.
  2. To be eligible for contract award, the successful bidder shall not have been blacklisted and shall be registered in the field of Building Construction with the Institute for Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) as indicated in the above table.
  3. Interested bidders may obtain further information from Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning Branch, University of Jaffna and inspect the bidding documents at the same address on any working day from 9:00hrs to 16:00 Contact numbers are: Phone: 021 2219201 Fax: 021 221 9201.
  4. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning Unit, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna from 16th December 2019 until 2nd January 2020 from 9:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rupees Three thousand Five hundred ( 3,500/-) for each bids No. 1, 3 & 6, Rupees Two thousand five hundred (Rs. 2,500/-) for each bids No. 2 & 5, Rupees One thousand five hundred (Rs. 1,500/-) for bid No. 4.
  5. Sealed Bids shall be delivered or sent by registered post to the Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna P.O Box 57 or be deposited in the tender box kept in the Capital Works & Planning Branch to reach on or before 10.00 hrs on 3rd January 2020. Bids will be opened soon after closing, at 00 hrs on 3rd January 2020 at the Board Room of the University in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend.
  6. Bids shall be valid at least for a period of 90 Days from the date fixed for receiving of Bids or any extended date.
  7. All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security which shall be;
    1. In the form included in the Section 09 in the Bidding document.
    2. In favour of “Competent Authority, University of Jaffna.”
    3. For the amount indicated in the above table against each work.
    4. Issued by one of the agencies indicated in the clause 16.0 of the Section 5
  8. Pre Bid meeting will be held at Capital Works & Planning, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna at 10.00 hrs on the 27th December, 2019.
