Request for Proposal on the Design and Drawing of the Facade for the Proposed Building of the

Faculty of Hindu Studies

The Faulty of Hindu Studies has been established at the University of Jaffna so that it can deservedly shine as scholastic institution and cultural centre of the Hindu community living in Sri Lanka. This Faculty has been established fulfilling the lofty aspirations of Sir Pon. Ramanathan and guided by the advices of the eminent scholars and stands to uphold the standards espoused by highly acclaimed Hindu traditions.

Existence can only be considered as a dream if it dwells only in ideologies. Activism, institutionalization and planning are intertwined with materialistic dimensions. Thus, it is imperative of the times to build the infrastructure for the existence of our faculty.

A drawing that gives the proposed facade to the newly established Faculty of Hindu Studies at the University of Jaffna is expected from interested members of the society and students. I request you to consider the following expected aspects when drawing the model of the facade and send the proposed facade to the Dean, Faculty of Hindu Studies, University of Jaffna before 05.05.2021 (Contact number- 0212212396).

It is decided to honour and offer a cash prize to the person whose proposal of the façade model get selected.

Expected aspects:

1. The area of the facade:

Length – 50 feet

Width – 30 feet

2. The length will be considered as front porch.
3. The model of the facade is expected for a four storey of building.
4. The facade should be created highlighting the Jaffna Tamil culture and Architectural Heritage of the Hindus.
5. A clear description of facade and structural design should be submitted along with the drawings.
6. One person may send any number of façade model.
7. All the drawings of the models should have been drawn in size of A3 (29.7cm X 42cm).
