University of Jaffna’s opening partners, Kalkoghan and Kapilraj laid a good platform for their innings and it went up to 82, by Kalkoghan’s another quick playing and Kapilraj’s sensible innings. Very unfortunately, while Kalkoghan was one run sort to fifty, he lost his wicket. Then suddenly University of Jaffna’s another two more wickets fell within 15 runs. On behalf of the Eastern University of Sri Lanka Karunakaran picked four wickets and Pavithraj picked two wickets.

University of Jaffna’s bowling attack was very tough from the beginning of the Eastern’s innings. They lost their first three wickets quickly.
