FACULTY OF SCIENCE

Senior Professor/Professor in Mathematics /Statistics/ Physics/ Botany/ Zoology/ Marine Biology/Computer Science /Chemistry (Physical/organic/inorganic)

Senior Lecturer Grade I / Senior Lecturer Grade II/ Lecturer (Probationary) in Mathematics/Statistics/ *Physics/ Zoology/ **Chemistry/Computer Science

Notes :

• * Applications from candidates with B.Sc. (Eng) degree with specialization in Electronics can also be considered for the posts in Physics
• ** Preference will be given to applicants with Specialization in Inorganic Chemistry for the post of Senior Lecturer in Chemistry.

Notes :

• Preference will be given to those who have degree in Social Science stream for the Post of Senior Assistant Librarian Grade I/ Senior Assistant Librarian Grade II/ Assistant Librarian.
• The Library staff in the University system who are eligible under old scheme of recruitment specified in UGC Circular Nos. 165 & 653 could also apply.

Note :

In addition to the above salary, the following allowances will also be paid:

1. An academic allowance equivalent to 25% of the basic salary (for permanent academic posts)
2. Cost of living allowance of Rs.5,250/-p.m

Statutory benefits:

1. Sabbatical leave entitlement for the holder of the Post of Senior Lecturer Gr.II and above.
2. Membership in Universities Provident Fund and Pension Scheme in the University system.
3. Gratuity payments
4. Employees' Trust Fund benefits.
5. Free Medical Services.

Applications and other documents for the Post of Senior Professor/Professor shall be sent to the Vice-Chancellor with a covering letter. Applications for the other posts shall be sent to the Senior Assistant Registrar/Academic Establishments.

Application forms and scheme of recruitment for each position may be obtained from the office of the Senior Assistant Registrar/ Academic Establishments, University of Jaffna, Sri-Lanka, either in person or by post, on a payment of Rs.100/- per application form. Those who wish to obtain application forms by post are requested to send a Money Order/Postal Order drawn in favour of the Bursar, University of Jaffna together with a self -addressed stamped envelope 23x10 c.m. in size.

Application forms and other details will also be available in the University website www.jfn.ac.lk . Those who wish to send the downloading application forms through the University website should be attached a Money Order/Postal Order drawn in favour of the Bursar, University of Jaffna.

Those who wish to apply for more than one post should apply in separate forms.

Applicants from the University System/Government Departments /Corporations and Statutory Board should channel their applications through the Head of respective Institutions. Illegible, incomplete and late applications will be rejected without intimation. Only short listed applicants will be called for an interview.
