Qualifications :
a.
A degree of a recognized University with Sinhala as a subject;
AND
b.
A credit pass in English Language or Literature at the G.C.E (Ordinary
Level) Examination or should have passed the G.C.E (Advance Level) or
higher examination in the English medium.

subject for the degree and / or who are proficient in all three
languages.

AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICAL OFFICER , GRADE – II : U-MN4 (II)
Qualifications:
a.
Diploma in Technology of the Open University of Sri Lanka or
Special Engineering Apprenticeship Certificate issued after 1975 or
National Diploma for Engineering technicians issued after 1989 by the
National Apprenticeship Board or National Diploma in Technology
or City and Guilds Final Certificate in the field of Electronics or
Power, together with one year’s experience in relevant video work.
OR
b.
Diploma in Educational Technology or Diploma in Audio Visual Techniques
of a recognized polytechnic or University, provided the courses for the
Diploma in Educational Technology or the Diploma in Audio Visual
Techniques are of two years duration, with 01 year experience in
relevant video work.
OR
c.
Pass in 03 subjects at the G.C.E (A/L) examination in Science in one
sitting and 06 year experience in Audio Visual work.
Salary scale : U-MN4 Rs. Rs.21,475 – 6x290 ; 6x420 ; 4x465 ;
5x585 ; 30,520 p.m

3.
Nursing Officer, Grade II : U-MT1(III)
Qualifications:
1.
G.C.E Ordinary level examination in six subjects at not more than two
sittings with credit passes in three subjects, and
2.
Certificate of competence as a Nurse recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical
Council.
4.
Pharmacist, Lower Grade : U-MT1(III)
Qualifications:
Certificate of competence as a qualified Pharmacist recognized by the
Sri Lanka Medical Council.
5.
Public Health Inspector, Grade II : U-MT1(III)
Qualifications:
Should have passed the Public Health Inspectors Examination conducted by
the Department of Health and at least three years experience since
qualifying.

Salary Scale :
U-MT1 Rs.16,260–5x130;2x155;15x185;19x 245–24,650 p.m

6.
Record Keeper, Grade II : U-MN1(III)
Qualifications :
1.
Should have passed the
G.C.E(Ordinary Level) Examination
in six subjects with five credits at not more than two sittings; and
2.
One year of experience in keeping records in a Record Room in the
University system or Government Department / State Corporation /
Recognized Institution.
3.
Good knowledge of Computer Literacy and Binding work.
Preference will be given to those who have passed the G.C.E (Advanced
Level) Examination in three subjects and obtained the certificate issued
by the Department of National Archives on completion of 05 day course
conducted for record Keeping.
Salary Scale :
U-MN 1
Rs. 15,870 – 7 x 130 ; 3 x 155 ; 15 x 185 ; 16 x 245 – 23,940 p.m

Conditions of Service
(i)
If suitable candidates are not available for selection, candidate with
lesser qualification may be selected for appointment as a Trainee record
Keeper for a period of 01 year subject to 02 extensions of training by
one year at a time on a fixed salary (initial of
U-MN1(III))
(ii)
For confirmation in the service the University will test the competence
of IT, binding and record keeping and to determine whether the employee
has achieved satisfactory level of competence.

Application forms and other details such as required qualifications,
salary scale etc. may be obtained from the office of the Senior
Assistant Registrar / Establishment Branch (Non Academic Section),
University of Jaffna, Thrunelvely, Jaffna, either in person or by post
on a payment of Rs.100/= per application form. Those who
wish to obtain application forms by post are requested to send a Money
Order / Postal Order drawn in favour of “Bursar, University of
Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna” together with a self-addressed Rs.5.00
stamped envelope of 23x 10 c.m. in size. The details also could be
obtained from the University of Jaffna web site www.jfn.ac.lk.
Duly completed application form should be sent under registered cover to
reach the Senior Assistant Registrar / Establishment Branch (Non
Academic Section), University of Jaffna, Thrunelvely, Jaffna on or
before 20.11.2007.
Those who are in Public Service / Corporations / Statutory Bodies should
forward their applications through their respective Heads of Departments
/ Corporations / Boards. Advance copies of applications may be sent in
the first instance. However, no such applicant will be considered for
appointment if the application routed through the Head of Department is
not received.
The envelope containing duly filled application form must bear the name
of the post to which they apply on its top left hand corner and either
hand delivered or sent under registered post to reach the office of the
Registrar on or before 20th November, 2007.
