Notes :

1. Applications for permanent position as well as contract appointment will be entertained from candidates with MBBS degree.
2. Applications from candidates with BDS/BVSc degree can also be considered for the posts in Biochemistry.
3. Applications from candidates with BVSc degree can also be considered for the posts in Physiology under category 4 of the scheme of recruitment, if there is no applicant with other three categories.
4. Applications from candidates with BA (Special degree in Psychology) degree can also be considered for the posts in Psychology.
5. Applications from candidates with the following qualifications shall be considered for the Post of Clinical Psychologist :
   • A Ph.D in Clinical Psychology or equivalent postgraduate qualifications in that discipline
   • First or second class (upper division) in honours degree in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology or Philosophy with at least one year experience in teaching/research/professional work/postgraduate studies
   • Applicants under category (b) will be considered only if there are no suitable applicants under category (a). An applicant selected under category (b) would be required to undergo training in Clinical Psychology and obtain suitable postgraduate qualifications.

Note : Applicants with special degree in related fields with postgraduate degree or professional training in the relevant field will also be considered under category III / IV of the scheme of recruitment for the Post of Lecturer (Probationary) if there is no candidate with special degree in relevant subject under category I & II of the scheme of recruitment.

Note :

In addition to the above salary, the following allowances will also be paid:

• Academic allowance
• Research allowance - 25% of the basic salary
• Special allowance -5% of the basic salary
• Cost of living allowance of Rs.5,850/-p.m

Applications and other documents for the Post of Senior Professor/Professor shall be sent to the Vice-Chancellor with a covering letter. Applications for the other posts shall be sent to the Senior Assistant Registrar/Academic Establishments.

Application forms and other details may be obtained from the office of the Senior Assistant Registrar/ Academic Establishments, University of Jaffna, Sri-Lanka, either in person or by post, on a payment of Rs.100/- per application form. Those who wish to obtain application forms by post are requested to send a Money Order/Postal Order drawn in favour of the Bursar, University of Jaffna together with a self - addressed stamped envelope 23x10 c.m. in size.

Application forms and other details will also be available in the University website www.jfn.ac.lk . Those who wish to send the downloaded application forms through the University website should be attached a Money Order/Postal Order drawn in favour of the Bursar, University of Jaffna.

Those who wish to apply for more than one post should apply in separate forms.

Applicants from the University System/Government Departments /Corporations and Statutory Board should channel their applications through the Head of respective Institutions. Illegible, incomplete and late applications will be rejected without intimation. Only short listed applicants will be called for an interview.
