University of Jaffna will entertain applications from qualified persons for the under mentioned posts.

FACULTY OF MEDICINE

• Senior Professor/Professor of Anatomy/ Physiology/ Community & Family Medicine/ Pathology/ Forensic Medicine/ Pharmacology/ Medicine/ Psychiatry/ Obstetrics & Gynaecology/ Paediatrics / Surgery
• Senior Lecturer Grade I / Senior Lecturer Grade II/ Lecturer (Probationary) in Anatomy/ Biochemistry/ Physiology/ Community & Family Medicine/ Pathology/ Microbiology/ Forensic Medicine /Pharmacology/ Medicine/ Psychiatry/ Paediatrics

Note:

• Applications will be entertained from candidates with MBBS degree as their first degree for the above posts.
• Preference will be given to those who have post graduate qualification in Haematology for the posts in Pathology.

SALARY AND OTHER BENEFITS

• Lecturer (Probationary)    Rs.53235 – 10×1240 – 65635/-p.m

Note:

The above salary scales are fully operative w.e.f 01.01.2020 and the placement of salary applicable to the posts for the years 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020 will be made in accordance with the University Grants Commission Circular No.17/2016 dated 05.12.2016.

In addition to the above salary,

1. The following allowances will be paid in the percentage of the basic salary to the financial value existed as at 31.12.2015:

i)  Academic allowance

Senior Professor – 152%
Professor – 147%
Senior Lecturer Gr.I/Gr.II – 136%
Lecturer (Probationary) – 100%

ii) Additional monthly allowance – 20% of the basic salary

iii) Research allowance – 35% (based on the research activity)

2. Cost of living allowance of Rs.7,800/-p.m.

Applications and other documents for the Post of Senior Professor/Professor shall be sent to the Vice-Chancellor with a covering letter. Applications for the other posts shall be sent to the Deputy Registrar/Academic Establishments, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka.

Application forms and other details may be obtained from the office of the Deputy Registrar/ Academic Establishments, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, either in person or by post, on a payment of Rs.100/- per application form. Those who wish to obtain application forms by post are requested to send a Money Order/Postal Order drawn in favour of the Bursar, University of Jaffna together with a self –addressed stamped envelope 23×10 c.m. in size.

Application forms and other details will also be available in the University website www.jfn.ac.lk. Those who wish to send the application forms downloaded from the University website should attach a Money Order/Postal Order for Rs.100/- to the application form drawn in favour of the Bursar, University of Jaffna.

Those who wish to apply for more than one post should apply in separate forms.

Applicants from the University System/Government Departments /Corporations and Statutory Board should channel their applications through the Head of respective Institutions. Illegible, incomplete and late applications will be rejected without intimation. Only short listed applicants will be called for an interview.
