 Post of Coordinator for Data Collection & Data quality, Data Collector, Phlebotomist, Medical Laboratory Technician and Computer operator (Full Time, on Contract Basis)

University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka has embarked on a medical research programme on Global Health Research under Atrial Fibrillation Management Project in partnership with University of Birmingham, UK Funded by National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), UK.

  • Coordinator – Data Collection & Data quality – Vacant – 01 post

 Requirements:

  • MBBS or Bachelor degree in indigenous medicine (BSMS, BAMS, and BUMS) or Bachelor degree in Allied Health Sciences or other equivalent qualification from UGC approved University / HEI. (Those who are waiting for the final results also can apply).
  • At least 1 year working experience in health-related research data collection & data quality.
  • Preference will be given to those who have experience in data analytical skill with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy, knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 45,000.00 will be paid.


  • Data Collector – Vacant – 20 posts

 Requirements:

  • MBBS or Bachelor degree in indigenous medicine (BSMS, BAMS, and BUMS) or Bachelor degree in Allied Health Sciences or other equivalent qualification from UGC approved University/ Those who are waiting for the final results also can apply.
  • Proven working experience in health research related data collection and clinical medicine.
  • Ability to handle e-based data collections.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 40,000.00 will be paid.


  • Phlebotomist – Vacant – 2 posts

 Requirements:

  • Experience in blood withdrawing especially using vacutainer technique.
  • Preference will be given to those who have experience in using computers for variety of tasks, labeling of samples, waste disposal using standard professional competencies and both health & research filed.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 30,000.00 will be paid.


  • Medical Laboratory Technician – Vacant – 2 posts

 Requirements:

  • Work experience in maintain good laboratory practice, centrifuging, preparation, pipetting, labeling and storing of bio samples using standard professional competencies.
  • Preference will be given to those who are having experience in using computers for variety of tasks and both health & research filed.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 40,000.00 will be paid.


  • Computer Operator – Vacant – 2 posts

 Requirements:

  • A Bachelor degree from UGC approved University / HEI.
  • Preference will be given to those who are having experience in handling the electronic medical record and using computers for variety of tasks in both health & research filed.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 35,000.00 will be paid.

 General note to all the above posts

  • All selected candidates will be appointed as full time on contract basis for six months.
  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
  • Ability to work in the field of any part of Northern Province, Sri Lanka.
  • Age should be above 21 years.
  • All selected candidates will become a contributor to the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employee Trust Fund (ETF): the employee should contribute 8% of the monthly salary to the EPF and the employer 12% & 3% of the monthly salary to EPF & ETF, respectively.
  • The candidates who apply for more than one post should submit separate application for each of the posts
