Postgraduate Research Studentships

Funded by Swiss National Science Foundation under the SPIRIT – Swiss Programme for International Research by Scientific Investigation Teams

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for Postgraduate Research Studentships to work at the CRE, University of Jaffna under the general theme of Molecular basis of salt adaptation of vector mosquitoes

Selected candidates should register and work full time for a PhD degree at the university,  preparing progress reports and research publications and assisting the research supervisors in all activities related to the project.

Required Qualifications:

• B.Sc. Honours degree in Zoology / Molecular Biology / Biology with minimum GPA 3.0.
• B.Sc. General Degree with Zoology / Molecular Biology as a subject

AND

• M.Sc in Medical Entomology/Molecular Biology

Age: Below 35 years of age by the closing date of the application.

Remuneration: Rs.60,000/- per month (fixed)

The period of appointment would be a maximum of 36 months. On the satisfactory performance of the candidates the contract will be extended annually up to 36 months.
