The Examination Branch is a key division of the University of Jaffna responsible for managing and overseeing all matters related to examinations. Its primary roles are to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations, maintain the integrity of the examination process, and handle the various administrative tasks associated with examinations.
The Examination Branch works towards ensuring that accepted standards are preserved through strict rules and regulations and administrative safeguard mechanisms according to standard operating procedures governing the whole process relating to the examinations at the University of Jaffna. Its responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks from planning and organizing exams, releasing the results, issuing academic transcripts and verification of the same through rigorous and meticulous processes. Academic integrity and quality of the programmes are ultimately protected by the quality processes, standards and safety mechanisms put in place that are strictly followed by the Examination Branch.
Main Functions of the Division
- Conducting Examinations for the undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs, recruitment, confirmation and promotion for the employment and selection examinations for the student intakes as per requirements stipulated by the UGC guidelines, schemes, circulars and regulations.
- Processing and releasing of results.
- Issuing Results Sheets, Statements of Degrees, Academic Transcripts and other certificates related to the examinations conducted.
- Confirmation and Verification of the degrees, as required by the external agencies for the purpose of the employment, scholarships, further studies, migration etc.
