Post of Research Assistant (MPhil)

Applications are invited by the Department of Physics, University of Jaffna from qualified candidates for the position of Research Assistant funded by the National Research Council (NRC) of Sri Lanka.

Selected candidate is required to register for an MPhil degree in Physics at the University of Jaffna and engage in full time research on “Highly efficient and photostable wide-bandgap mixed halide perovskite solar cells”, preparing progress reports and research publications, and supporting research supervisor in all project-related activities.

Required qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Physics with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
    OR
  • A Bachelor of Science degree with Physics as a subject and an MSc in Materials Physics.

Prior research experience in the field of Materials Science or Perovskite Solar Cells would be an added advantage.

Expected Technical Skills:

  • Synthesis and fabrication of perovskite materials for solar cell applications.
  • Hands-on experience with material characterization techniques.

Priority will be given to those who possess experimental experience in thin-film fabrication (spin-coating) and structural, spectroscopic, and electrical characterization.

Remuneration:

  • Rs. 70,000 (monthly)

 Duration:

  • 24 months (two years)
