VACANCIES

University of Jaffna will entertain applications to reach us on or before 29.12.2023 from qualified Sri Lankan Nationals for the under mentioned Temporary posts.

  • Temporary Assistant Lecturer / Temporary Demonstrator in Engineering Technology, Biosystems Technology and Interdisciplinary Studies.

 Qualification:

  1. A degree with Specialization in the relevant subject with First or Second Class (Upper Division) Honours;
    OR
  2. A degree with Specialization in the relevant subject with Second Class (Lower Division) Honours;
    OR
  3. (a) A degree with Specialization in the relevant subject without Honours or any other degree with at least Second Class Honors
    and
    (b) a recognized postgraduates degree in the relevant subject.

 Note I : Special consideration will be given in Engineering Technology to those who have degrees in Engineering Technology or Engineering in one or more of the following specializations;

  • Construction Technology / Building Services Technology / Civil Engineering
  • Automobile Technology / Manufacturing Technology / Automation Technology / Mechanical Engineering
  • Electro Technology / Electromechanical Instrumentations / Automation Technology / Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Note II : Special Consideration will be given in Biosystems Technology to those who have degrees in Biosystems Technology or any other related degrees specialized in one or more of the following specializations;

  • Food Production Technology / Food Science and Technology / Food Science
  • Commercial Green Farming Technology / Agricultural Sciences

Note III : Special Consideration will be given in Interdisciplinary Studies to those who have degree in Information and Communication Technology / Computer Science / Physics / Mathematics / Statistics.

NOTE: Candidates who are awaiting the results of the final degree examinations may also apply for the post of Temporary Demonstrator only.

Temporary Assistant Lecturer                                                   Rs. 49,860 p.m. (Fixed)

Temporary Demonstrator                                                        Rs. 40,920 p.m. (Fixed)

 

In addition to the above salary, the allowances approved by University Grants Commission will also be paid.

The post applied for should be marked on the top left-hand corner of the envelope. Interested candidates with the required qualifications should also fill the online form before 29.12.2023.

Those who wish to apply for more than one post should submit separate application for each post.
Applicants from the University System / Government Departments / Corporations and Statutory Board should channel their applications through the Head of respective Institutions. Illegible, incomplete and late applications will be rejected without intimation. Only short-listed applicants will be called for an interview.
