Prof. M. Thanihaichelvan of the Department of Physics Wins the CVCD Award for Most Outstanding Young Researcher 2024
The Department of Physics, University of Jaffna is delighted to announce that Prof. M. Thanihaichelvan has been awarded the prestigious Most Outstanding Young Researcher Award in the field of Natural Sciences at the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) Excellence Awards 2024. The ceremony took place on August 2, 2025, at the Senate House, University of Colombo.

This distinguished honor is a testament to Prof. M. Thanihaichelvan’s exceptional research and scholarly contributions as a young academic within the Sri Lankan university system. The CVCD Excellence Awards are a biennial event that recognize significant achievements in research, and innovation.
