VACANCIES – TEMPORARY ACADEMIC POST

 Applications are invited for the below mentioned temporary post at the Faculty of Technology, University of Jaffna.

• Temporary Assistant Lecturer / Temporary Demonstrator in Engineering Technology, Biosystems Technology and Interdisciplinary Studies.

The applicant should obtained required qualification from State Universities or UGC-recognized foreign institutions as stated below.

Qualification:

1. A degree with Specialization in the relevant subject with First or Second Class (Upper Division) Honours;
   OR
2. A degree with Specialization in the relevant subject with Second Class (Lower Division) Honours;
   OR

3. A degree with Specialization in the relevant subject without Honours or any other degree with at least Second Class Honors
   and
   (b) a recognized postgraduates degree in the relevant subject.

Note I : Special Consideration will be given in Engineering Technology to those who have degrees in Engineering Technology or Engineering in one or more of the following specializations;

• Construction Technology / Civil Engineering
• Automobile Technology / Mechanical Engineering
• Electro Technology / Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Note II :          Special Consideration will be given in Biosystems Technology to those who have degrees in Biosystems Technology or any other related degrees specialized in one or more of the following specializations;

• Food Production Technology/ Food Science and Technology/ Food Science
• Commercial Green Farming Technology/ Agricultural Sciences

Note III :         Special Consideration will be given in Interdisciplinary Studies to those who have degree in Information and Communication Technology / Computer Science / Physics / Mathematics / Statistics.

 NOTE: Candidates who are awaiting for the results of the final degree examinations may also apply for the post of Temporary Demonstrator only. Candidates other than university of Jaffna should bring the results sheets with pending approval of the senate of the respective university.

 Salary Scale:

• Temporary Assistant Lecturer – A fixed monthly salary of Rs.85,305/-, subject to a deduction of Rs.17,812/- as an unpaid amount, in accordance with Commission Circular No.02/2025 (i) dated 04.04.2025.
• Temporary Demonstrator – A fixed monthly salary of Rs.68,145/-, subject to a deduction of Rs.12,058/- as an unpaid amount, in accordance with Commission Circular No.02/2025 (i) dated 04.04.2025.

In addition to the above salary, the allowances approved by University Grants Commission will also be paid.

A non-refundable fee of Rs. 100.00 must be paid via bank deposit to the People’s Bank, Account No: 970000090000387, in favor of the Bursar, University of Jaffna. A copy of the bank slip must be attached to the application.

Those who wish to apply for more than one post should submit separate application for each post.
Applicants from the University System / Government Departments / Corporations and Statutory Board should channel their applications through the Head of respective Institutions. Illegible, incomplete and late applications will be rejected without intimation. Only short-listed applicants will be called for an interview.
