UNIVERSITY OF JAFFNA  SRI LANKA

University of Jaffna will entertain applications from qualified persons for the under-mentioned post up to Tuesday, 30th September 2025.

  • Post of Temporary Research Assistant
    “A.S.Thambiah Endowment for Research in Oncology – Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna”

Salary Scale: A fixed monthly salary of Rs.85,305/= subject to a deduction of Rs.17,812/= as an unpaid amount, in accordance with Commission Circular No.02/2025 (i) dated 04.04.2025. In addition to the above salary, the allowances approved by University Grants Commission applicable to the post will be paid.

Qualifications:-

  •  Basic degree in the field of healthcare with Undergraduate research experience in health research.
    • A First or Second class (Upper Division) in a basic degree Examination in the relevant subject.
      OR
    • A Second class (Lower Division) in a basic degree Examination in the relevant subject.
      OR
    • An ordinary pass in the B.Sc Special Degree Examination in the relevant subject.
      OR
    • An ordinary pass in the B.Sc General Degree Examination with a recognized postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject

Note : Having research experience in the field of oncology will be preferable.

Application forms downloaded from the Faculty website should accompany with the paid Bank slip for the deposit of a sum of Rs.100/- credited to the people’s Bank Account No (Ref No): 970000090000387 in favor of Bursar, University of Jaffna.

Perfected applications shall be sent to the Deputy Registrar/ Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, Adiyapatham Road, Kokuvil, Jaffna. Applicants must also fill in their details at the Google link (Click Here) and email the scanned copies of the documents to fomvacancy@univ.jfn.ac.lk  on or before Tuesday, 30th  September 2025.

Applicants from the University System/Government Departments/Corporations and Statutory Boards should channel their applications through the Heads of respective Institutions, but may send an advance copy in the first instance.  However, no such applicant will be considered for interview, if the application channeled through the Head of the Department is not received.

Illegible & incomplete applications, and applications received after the closing date will be rejected without intimation. Only short-listed applicants will be called for an interview.
