Vacancy for the post of Temporary Project Coordinator
The University of Jaffna invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Temporary Project Coordinator for the project “Developing Social Welfare Policy for Northern Province, Sri Lanka”, implemented by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, and funded by the Asia Foundation.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a university or Higher Education Institution (HEI) recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- Preference will be given to those with prior experience in health-related research projects.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day coordination and administration of project activities.
- Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders, including project partners and field teams.
- Support the scheduling and organization of meetings, workshops, training sessions, and field visits.
- Prepare minutes of meetings and follow up on action items.
- Assist in developing data collection tools (e.g., questionnaires, interview guides).
- Support ethical clearance applications and ensure compliance with ethical standards.
- Coordinate and participate in data collection activities in the field, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.
- Ensure proper documentation and storage of collected data.
- Perform data entry, cleaning, and basic statistical analysis using relevant software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, NVivo), including data modelling.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports, research briefs, and manuscripts.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of research data.
- Contribute to the preparation of dissemination materials, including presentations, posters, and publications.
- Maintain records of project expenses and support financial reporting.
- Ensure logistical arrangements for fieldwork, including travel, accommodation, and coordination with local partners.
- Carry out any other duties related to the project as assigned by the Project Lead.
Remuneration:
- A monthly salary of LKR 78,000 will be paid.
General note to all the above posts
- All selected candidates will be appointed full-time for six months.
- Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
- Ability to work in the field of any part of Sri Lanka
- Age should be not less than 18 and not more than 35 years.
- All selected candidates will become contributors to the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employee Trust Fund (ETF). The employee should contribute 8% of the monthly salary to the EPF, and the employer will contribute 12% & 3% of the monthly salary to EPF & ETF, respectively.
A non-refundable fee of Rs. 100.00 must be paid via bank deposit to the People’s Bank, Account No: 970000090000387, in favor of the Bursar, University of Jaffna. A copy of the bank slip must be attached to the application.
