Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna

  • Post of Project Fellow – 01 Vacancy (Full Time, on Contract Basis)

We are seeking a Project Fellow for the RIEGELMAN This is Public Health [TIPH] Global Grant Project 2025 based at the University of Jaffna.

The project is led by the Department of Community and Family Medicine (DFCM), Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, and is designed to strengthen the capacity of frontline public health personnel in Sri Lanka through podcast-based education delivered in local languages.

Required qualifications and experience:

Requirements:       

  • Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or a relevant degree from a recognized university.
  • Having experience in public health is an advantage.

Professional competencies required:

  • High level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Tamil
  • Proficiency in communication in Sinhala is an advantage
  • Should have adequate knowledge and skills in handling IT related activities including managing websites and social media
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Tamil, Sinhala and in English with officials and different stakeholders including local public health experts
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment inspiring trust and cooperation of other team members.
  • Ability to achieve the targets in time align plan

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 76,000.00 will be paid

General Conditions:

  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
  • Age should be below 45 years on the date of closing application.
  • The selected candidate will be appointed on a full-time basis for one year.
  • The selected candidate will contribute to the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employee Trust Fund (ETF). The employee is required to contribute 8% of their monthly salary to the EPF, while the employer will contribute 12% to the EPF and 3% to the ETF.

Duration: 1 year

Walk in Interview for the above position will be held on 30.12.2025 from 2.30 PM – 4.00 PM, at the Board Room, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna

Eligible candidates are requested to be present for an interview with self-prepared application for the post in the prescribed format available on the University website (Application Form) along with relevant original educational qualification certificates, birth certificate, experience certificates and National Identity Card on the date and the time mentioned above.
