VINGNANAM – Journal of Science

Vingnanam is a biannual refereed Journal of the Faculty of Science, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, the publication of which was commenced in the eighties. It published original research papers and short research communications in the field of Science and Technology. Unfortunately due to the abnormal situation that prevailed in Jaffna, the journal could not be published from 1995 to 2010 and now that there is a settled situation, we are pleased to resume normal publication since 2011.

Guidelines for Authors

Vingnanam – Journal of Science publishes original research papers and short communications. Original papers should not exceed 12 printed pages including tables and figures. Short communications should not exceed 3 printed pages including tables and figures. Manuscripts must be accompanied by a letter signed by all the authors.

Submission of a paper to the journal means that it has not previously been published (except in an abstract form), and that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Responsibility for the accuracy of the content of the manuscript, including references, lies entirely with the authors.

Submission: Manuscripts should be submitted to vingnanam@jfn.ac.lk along with the contact detail of three potential referees in the filed of the manuscript belongs to.

Preparation of Manuscript

  1. Original papers should be organized as follows:
    •  Abstract
    • Key words
    • Introduction
    • Materials and Methods
    • Results
    • Discussion
    • Acknowledgements
    • References
2. Manuscripts should typewritten with double spacing, using Times New Roman 12 font size. The metric system is to be used throughout.The title page should include: title, the names, affiliations and complete postal addresses of all authors. Corresponding author’s telephone number and e-mail address should be mentioned.An abstract should not exceed more than 10 % of the length of the article. Keywords, 3-6 items, should be provided.
