Developing Manual of Procedures and University Calendar/Handbook

University of Jaffna has initiated an activity to develop Manual of Procedures and University Calendar/Handbook. This activity is being taken forwarded having Professor Harischandra Abeygunawardena, former Vice Chancellor University of Peradeniya & former Member, University Grants Commission, and Mr. Tissa Nandasena, former Secretary, University Grants Commission as consultants. In this regard, first meetings with the stake holders of the University of Jaffna took place on 11, 12 & 13 January 2016.


Meeting with the the Higher Management including Vice Chancellor, Rector, Deans of the Faculties, Registrar, Deputy Registrars and Bursar took place on 11 January 2016. Meetings were held with each faculty separately where the consultants met the Dean, Heads, Academic staff and Students of respective faculties.  Faculty level Meetings for the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Medicine and  Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce were held on 11 January 2016. For the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Science, faculty level meetings were held on 12 January 2016. In addition the consultants met the staff of the Library, English Language Teaching Unit, Computer Centre, Open and Distance Education Unit, Staff Development Centre and Career Guidance Unit on this day. Consultants held meeting with the Dean, Heads, Academic staff and Students of the Faculty of  Applied Science and Faculty of Business Studies of the Vavuniya Campus were held on 13 January 2016.
