Balance Work on the Construction of Lecture Hall Complex for the Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce – Block A (Stage II), University of Jaffna

  1. The Chairman, Department Procurement Committee (DPC), University of Jaffna on behalf of the University of Jaffna now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for “Balance Work on the Construction of Lecture Hall Complex for the Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce – Block A (Stage II), University of Jaffna” as described below and estimated to cost of Rs. 78.2 million (excluding VAT).

The construction period is 300 Days.

  • Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding Procedure.
  • To be eligible for contract award, the successful bidder shall not have been blacklisted and shall be registered in the field of building construction for grade C4 or above with the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA),valid until the date of closing of the bids. Further the registration should be valid at the date of award.
  • Interested bidders may obtain further information from Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning, University of Jaffna and inspect the bidding documents at the same address on any working day from 9:00hrs to 16:00hrs.

  • A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning, University of Jaffna, from 25th January 2019 until 14th February 2019 from 9:00hrs to 15:00hrs working days upon payment of non refundable fee of Rupees Seventeen Thousand (Rs. 17,000/-).
  • Sealed Bids shall be delivered or sent by registered post to the Chairman, Procurement Committee of University of Jaffna,  P.O Box 57, Thirunelvely, Jaffna or be deposited in the tender box kept in the Capital Works and Planning, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna to reach  on or before 14:00 hrs on  the 15th February 2019. Bids will be opened soon after closing at 14.00 hrs on the 15th February 2019 at the same venue in the presence of the bidders representatives who choose to attend.
  • Bids shall be Valid for a period of 91 Days from the date fixed for closing of Bids or any extended period.
  • All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security which shall be;
  • In the form included in Section 09 in the Bidding document.
  • In favour of Vice Chancellor-University of Jaffna.
  • For an amount of Rs. 1,250,000.00
  • Valid up to 14th June, 2019 (119 days from the closing date of Bid).
  • Issued by one of the agencies indicated in the clause 16.2 of the Bidding Data.
  • Pre bid meeting will be held at 10:00 hrs on 05th February 2019 at the Board Room, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely.
