University of Jaffna will entertain applications up to 27th January 2021 from suitably qualified persons for the under mentioned posts:

  • Temporary Research Assistant
  • Temporary Instructor in Civil Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ Electrical and Electronic Engineering/ Mechanical & Process Engineering/ Engineering Mathematics

Duties, responsibilities and competencies of the Temporary Research Assistant will be as follows:

  • Identifying business requirement of software and automation projects and preparing proposals for projects.
  • Design, development and execution of automation activities using Office 365 applications.
  • Ability to create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Ability to handle basic SQL operations.
  • Identifying, recording, documentation and tracking bugs.
  • Assisting Dean’s office of Faculty of Engineering for further development.
  • Carrying out any other relevant direction given by the Dean.

Temporary Instructor in Mechanical & Process Engineering/ Engineering Mathematics/ Civil Engineering/ Electrical and Electronic Engineering/ Computer Engineering are expected to

  • Work with academic staff and facilitate them in their research work
  • Prepare and conduct laboratory experiments
  • Assist academic staff in conducting undergraduate programme
  • Exhibit professionalism in design skills
  • Ensure a conducive environment by playing a facilitatory role in research work of the academic staff

Required qualifications

  • UGC recognized Four Year Engineering Degree for both position above.
  • Candidates who are awaiting the results of the final degree examinations may also apply for the posts of Temporary Instructor.

Salary:

  • Temporary Research Assistant – Rs.49,860/- per month (fixed)
  • Temporary Instructor – Rs. 40,920/- per month (fixed)
