Invitation for Bidds

  1. The Chairperson, Procurement Committee of University of Jaffna now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the following works.bidnov2016
  2. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding Procedure.
  3. To be eligible for contract award, the successful bidder shall not have been blacklisted and shall be registered in the field of Building Construction with the Institute for Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) as indicated in the above table.
  4.  Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as per the information given in the above table.

  5.  Interested bidders may obtain further information from Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning Unit, University of Jaffna and inspect the bidding documents at the same address on any working day from 9:00hrs to 16:00 Contact numbers are: Phone: 021 2219201 Fax: 021 221 9201.

  6.  A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning Unit, University of Jaffna from 15th November, 2016 until 5th December, 2016 from 9.00 hrs to 15.00 hrs upon payment of a non refundable fee of rupees two thousand five hundred (Rs.2,500/-) for bids No 1, 5, 7 & 8 and one thousand  five hundred rupees ( Rs. 1,500/-) bid No.2, 3, 4, 6, 9 & 10.

  7. Bids shall be delivered or sent by registered post to the Chairperson, Procurement Committee of University of Jaffna, P.O Box 57, Thirunelvely, Jaffna or be deposited in the tender box kept in the Registrar’s office to reach on or before 14.00 hrs on the 6th December, 2016. Bids will be opened immediately thereafter on 6th December, 2016 in the Board room of the University in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend.
  8. Bids shall be valid for a period for 90 days from the date fixed for closing of Bids or any extend period.

  9.  All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security which shall be;

    • In the form included in Section 09 in the Bidding document.
    • For the amount as indicated in the above table.
    • Valid up to 5th April, 2017.
    • In favour of “Vice Chancellor, University of Jaffna.”
    • Issued by one of the agencies indicated in the clause 16 of ITB of the schedule.

    10. Pre Bid meeting will be held at board room of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ariviyal Nagar, Kilinochchi at 10.00 hrs on the 28th November, 2016 for bids No. 1 to 4 and at 10.00 hrs on 29th November, 2016 at the board room, University of Jaffna for the bid No. 5 to 10.
