The Chairman, Department Procurement Committee of University of Jaffna invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the following work utilizing Kandiah Karthigesan Trust Fund.

  • Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding Procedure.
  • To be eligible for contract award, the successful bidder shall not have been blacklisted and shall be registered in the field of Building Construction with the Institute for Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) as indicated in the above table. (The CIDA Grades of C7, C6 and C5 are eligible for the above procurement, having considered the circular No. PFD/PMD/Cir/Reg.contracts published by Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies dated 09.02.2023.)
  • Interested bidders may obtain further information from Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning Branch, University of Jaffna and inspect the bidding documents at the same address on any working day from 9:00hrs to 16:00hrs. Contact numbers are: Phone: 021 2219201 Fax: 021 221 9201.
  • A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning Branch, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna from 27nd February 2023 until 22nd March 2023 from 9:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rupees Five Thousand (Rs. 5,000.00) to be deposited to the People’s Bank, University of Jaffna with the Reference No “970000060000276” should be filled in the Account Number column in the Deposit Slip.
  • Sealed Bids shall be delivered or sent by registered post to the Deputy Registrar, Capital Works & Planning Branch, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna P.O Box 57 or be deposited in the tender box kept in the Capital Works & Planning Branch to reach on or before 10:00 hrs on 23rd March 2023. Bids will be opened soon after closing, at 10.00 hrs on 23rd March 2023 at the same venue in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend.
  • Bids shall be valid at least for a period of 90 Days from the closing date of Bids submission or any extended date.
  • All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security which shall be;
    • In the form included in the Section 09 in the Bidding document.
    • In favour of “Vice Chancellor, University of Jaffna.”
    • For the amount indicated in the above table.
    • Bid Security shall be valid upto 21.07.2023
    • Issued by one of the agencies indicated in the clause 16.0 of the Section 5

8. Pre Bid meeting will be held on 15th March, 2023 at 10:00 hrs at Capital Works & Planning Branch, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna.
