MoU signed with the University of Konstanz, Germany

In a significant move aimed at advancing research and collaboration in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computational Linguistics, the University of Jaffna and the Universität Konstanz signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 28th, 2023. The MoU, signed by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Jaffna and the Department of Linguistics at the University of Konstanz, aims to promote mutual cooperation and support in the areas of NLP and Computational Linguistics. The agreement seeks to foster joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, and joint seminars and workshops.

The signing ceremony took place in the boardroom of the University of Jaffna and was attended by representatives from both universities, including Professor S. Srisatkunarajah, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, Professor Miriam Butt, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Konstanz, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Jaffna, and the head and staff of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Jaffna.
