This time University of Jaffna didn’t fail to show their colours and both batting and bowling department done their job very well. University of Jaffna already played against Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and University of Colombo the last two weekends and made two victories in their home grounds.

At the very first match, even University of Jaffna (UoJ) could score 131 for all out; UoJ allowed all cricketers of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka to bat only up to 80 runs, by Senthuran’s accurate bowling (4Wickets). With a good starting of the first win, UoJ moved to Colombo with full of confident and our heroes suppressed University of Colombo into 127. It was a fantastic performance to play so in their home ground amidst their home supporters. University of Jaffna finally win by Kalkoghan’s a quick fifty and with a six wicket lost.

The third match was set to Eastern University of Sri Lanka in Jaffna. It was the day for the UoJ
cricketers to show their colours in their home ground and they have successfully done it. University of Jaffna won the toss and selected to bat first. University of Jaffna’s opening partners, Kalkoghan and Kapilraj laid a good platform for their innings and it went up to 82, by Kalkoghan’s another quick playing and Kapilraj’s sensible innings. Very unfortunately, while Kalkoghan was one run sort to fifty, he lost his wicket. Then suddenly University of Jaffna’s another two more wickets fell within 15 runs. The strongest pillar of the UoJ Cricket Thuvarakaseelan, a well-experienced cricketer played wonderfully and made a half century (68). And Senthooran’s 20 and Dhanushka’s fast 29 added the score more and finally, University of Jaffna’s innings ended up with 238 with 7 wickets loss. On behalf of the Eastern University of Sri Lanka Karunakaran picked four wickets and Pavithraj picked two wickets.

University of Jaffna’s bowling attack was very tough from the beginning of the Eastern’s innings. They lost their first three wickets quickly. Though, the middle order batsmen gave pressure to the University of  Jaffna, they have picket six wickets when the score was 110 and last four wickets fell within 2 more runs. Finally, University of Jaffna won the game comfortably by 126 runs. Thuvarakaseelan and Logeswaran picked three wickets each and Senthuran picked up two.
