  •  Post of Data Collector, Phlebotomist, Laboratory Assistant and Data Collecting Assistant

University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka has embarked on a medical research programme on Global Health Research on Atrial Fibrillation Management Project in partnership with University of Birmingham, UK Funded by National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), UK.

  1. Data Collector

Vacant – 03 posts

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor degree from UGC approved University or Higher Education Institution.
  • Preference will be given to those who have experience in health research related and e-based data collections.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 40,000.00 will be paid.

  1. Phlebotomist

Vacant – 02 posts

Requirements:

  • Relevant educational qualification for the post.

or

Experience in blood withdrawal especially using vacutainer technique, labelling of bio samples, waste disposal using standard professional competencies and experience in both health & research filed.

  • Preference will be given to those who have experience in both health & research fields.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 40,000.00 will be paid.

  1. Laboratory Assistant

Vacant – 02 posts

Requirements:

  • Relevant educational qualification for the post.

or

Minimum of 10 years post qualifying experience in maintaining good laboratory practice, centrifuging, preparation, pipetting, labelling and storing of bio samples using standard professional competencies.

  • Preference will be given to those who have experience in both health & research fields.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 40,000.00 will be paid.

  1. Data Collecting Assistant

Vacant – 07 posts

Requirements:

  • Should have passed the G.C. E. A/L examination with three passes.
  • Preference will be given to those who have experience in health research related and e-based data collections.

Remuneration: A monthly salary of LKR 30,000.00 will be paid.

General notes to all the above posts:

  • Candidates are able to work in the field of any part of Northern Province, Sri Lanka.
  • Candidates should possess excellent language skills in Tamil.
  • All the selected candidates will be appointed as full time on contract basis for four months.
  • Candidates should be citizens of Sri Lanka.
  • Candidates are able to work in the field of any part of Northern Province, Sri Lanka.
  • Age should be above 21 years on the closing date of application.
  • All the selected candidates will become contributors to the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employee Trust Fund (ETF), in which case, the employee should contribute 8% of the monthly salary to the EPF and the employer will contribute 12% & 3% of the monthly salary to EPF & ETF respectively.
  • The candidates who apply for more than one post should submit a separate application for each of the posts.
  • Incomplete and Illegible applications and applications received after the closing date will be rejected without intimation.
  • Only short- listed applicants will be called for the interview. The date and time for the interview will be notified to the eligible candidates.
