Higher Diploma in Physical Education

Academic Year-2020/2021

This is with reference to the advertisement dated 04.03.2020 calling applications for the Higher Diploma in Physical Education at Sports Sciece Unit, University of Jaffna. It is hereby notified that the closing date for entertaining applications for the Higher Diploma in Physical Education is extended upto 30.06.2020.

Applications are invited from those who wish to follow the Higher Diploma in Physical Education to be conducted by the University of Jaffna for the Academic Year 2020/2021.

Applicants should satisfy the requirements given below.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Should have passed in three subjects in the G.C.E (A/L) in one and the same sitting and should have the Minimum Qualification required by the University Grants Commission for university admissions in Sri Lanka

Or

  • A Candidate who has SLQF Level 3 or NVQ Level 5 Diploma certificate in the relevant field.

Selection:

The Selection will be based on the performance of the applicants in a written examination, practical assessment and an oral examination conducted by the University.

These examinations and practical assessment tests will be held at the University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely.

Note: Preference will be given to those candidates who have participated in sports and athletics and won places at District level, Province level and National level.

Age:

  • Should be in the age group between 18 and 28 Years.
  • The University Senate may relax the age requirement in the case of candidates who are already in the Sports Profession in Government and Non-Government Sectors.

Duration: Two Years (Both Fulltime and Part-time)

Medium: Tamil

Course Fee and registration fee etc.(All inclusive) : Rs. 73,000.00

Application Forms could be obtained from the Deputy Registrar/ Admissions Branch, University of Jaffna upon a payment of RS. 500/= should be deposited at the Jaffna University account number 162-1-001-8-0000902 at any branch of the peoples bank on or before 30.06.2020.

The duly filled Application forms should be reached by post or by hand to the Deputy Registrar, Admission Branch, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna.
