Obituary notice – Dr. Mrs. C C Amirthanjali Sivapalan – Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Linguistics and English Literature

With deep sadness and sorrow we inform the passing away of Dr. Mrs. Cecilia Carmeleen Amirthanjali Sivapalan – Senior Lecturer, Gr. I, and former Head of the Department of Linguistics and English Literature, earlier today (22 April 2019).

She leaves behind her beloved husband Dr. N. Sivapalan, (Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Chemistry, University of Jaffna) and her two children Mr. S. Chelvaniththilan (Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Engineering, NSBM Green University, Homagama) and Ms. S. Sumithreyi. Dr. Mrs. Sivapalan is the fond sister of Rev. Fr. Gerard Saverimuttu and Dr. Tharman Saverimuttu.

Our heartfelt condolences to her family members. We are saddened by the loss of one of our beloved guide, teacher and colleague. May your soul rest in peace. The Community of University of Jaffna will truly miss you.
