Supply of Skilled, Semiskilled and Unskilled Workers to the University of Jaffna- 2023/2024

  • The Chairman, Procurement Committee, University of Jaffna invites sealed Bids for the above contract up to 2.00 p.m. on 19th May 2023
  • Period of contract should be 365/6 days subject to a performance evaluation period of 60 days.

  • Firms which satisfy the following conditions are eligible to submit Bids. Documentary evidences  should be provided with Bids.
      1. Must be registered in Sri Lanka under the Company’s Acts or Business Name Registration Ordinance.
      2. Average of annual volume of supply of skilled, semiskilled and unskilled workers contracts performed in the last 3 years should be at least Rs. 60 Million.
      3. Must have satisfactorily carried out at least one supply of skilled, semiskilled and unskilled workers contract to a Government Department/ Corporation/ University during the last 3 years for not less than Rs. 20 Million.
      4. Availability of trained and experienced Sri Lankan staff during the last 3 years should be atleast 30.
  • Interested bidders may obtain further information from Assistant Registrar, General Administration, University of Jaffna, and inspect the bidding documents at the same address on any working day during working hours.

  • A complete set of Bidding Documents in English Language could be purchased by interested Bidders on submission of a written application to the Assistant Registrar, General Administration, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely from 9.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. on any working day up to 15th May 2023 upon the submission of receipt for the payment of non-refundable Tender Fee of Rs. 5000.00.  The payment should be made in cash to the Shroff, University of Jaffna or the payment shall be deposited in favour of Bursar, University of Jaffna at the People’s Bank, University of Jaffna Branch Account Number  970000060000276 at any Branch of People’s Bank in Island wide.
  • Bidders are strongly advised to attend the Pre-bid meeting on 10th May 2023 at 10.00 am in the boardroom of the University of Jaffna and visit each location before pricing.
  • Bids shall be delivered or sent by registered post to the Assistant Registrar, General Administration, University of Jaffna, Thirunelvely, Jaffna P.O Box 57, to reach on or before 00 hrs on or before 19th May 2023 or be deposited in the tender box kept in the Office of the Registrar on or before the above date and time. Bids will be opened soon after closing the Bids in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend
  • Bids shall be valid for a period of 91 Days (should be as at 18th August 2023) from the date fixed for closing of bids or any extended period.

All bids shall be accompanied by a bid security for and which shall be;

  • In the form included with the Bidding document
  • In favour of Vice-Chancellor, University of Jaffna
  • For an amount of Rs. 50,000.00 Valid up to 15th September 2023 (120 days from the date of closing of bid)
  • Issued by one of the agencies
  1. A bank operating in Sri Lanka;
  2. A bank based in another country but the guarantee “confirmed” by a bank operating in Sri Lanka;
