Vacancy – Assistant Registrar ( Legal), Curator(Landscape), Chief Security Officer, Project Manager(Construction) & Chief Marshal

VACANCY

The University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka will entertain applications from suitably qualified persons for the following posts:

1. ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (LEGAL & DOCUMENTATION)

Qualifications:

An Attorney-at-Law with A Degree in Law/ Legal Studies with not less than two (02) years of experience gained in Court work, Legal work and drafting legal documentation in a State/ Corporation or reputed private sector organization or official bar after obtaining the above qualification.

OR

An Attorney-at-Law with not less than three (03) years of experience gained in Court work, Legal work and drafting legal documentation in a State/Corporation or reputed private sector organization or official bar after obtaining the above qualification.

Salary Scale : U-EX 1(II)- Rs. 50,625-3X1,125-54,000(EB)55,335;12X1,335-71,355/- p.m.

2. CURATOR (LANDSCAPE)- GRADE III

Qualifications:

Should possess a four year Special Bachelor’s Degree [Honours] in Agriculture or Agricultural Technology & Management and majoring in Crop Science/Horticulture/Floriculture/Forestry from a recognized University/HEI with not less than one (01) year of experience in landscaping in a State/Corporation or reputed private sector organization in supervisory capacity.

OR

Should possess a four year Special Bachelor’s Degree [Honours] in Landscape Architecture from a recognized University/HEI with not less than one (01) year of experience in Landscaping in a State/ Corporation or reputed private sector organization in supervisory capacity.

OR

Should possess a four year Special Bachelor’s Degree [Honours] in Botany of a recognized University/HEI with not less than two(02) years of experience in landscaping in State/Corporation or reputed private sector organization in supervisory capacity.

Salary Scale : U-EX 1(II) – Rs. 50,625-3X1,125-54,000(EB)55,335;12X1,335-71,355/- p.m.

3. CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER- GRADE II

Qualifications:
An Officer not below the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, Captain of the Army or an Officer of equivalent rank in the other Armed Services.

OR

A Person who possesses a degree from a recognized University/Higher Educational Institutions with not less than five (05) years’ experience in Security work.

OR

A holder of the post of Security Inspector, Grade I or above in the University Security Services and confirmed in the present post with not less than eight (08) years satisfactory service in those grades.

Salary Scale: U-EX 1(II)- Rs. 50,625-3X1,125-54,000(EB)55,335;12X1,335-71,355/- p.m.

4. PROJECT MANAGER – CONSTRUCTION WORKS

Qualifications

• Should posses a B.Sc Engineering degree from a recognized University/HEI specializing in Civil Engineering

OR

Should posses a B.Sc Engineering degree from a recognized University/HEI specializing in Quantity Surveying

OR

Equivalent professional qualifications recognized by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL)

AND

• Posses a corporate membership from a recognized Institute of Engineering Institute.

OR

Posses a corporate membership from a recognized Institute of Quantity Surveying

AND

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in construction projects, handling contracts as well as managing direct labour.

Salary Scale : U-EX2(II)- Rs.66,180-8X1,335;8X1,630-89,900/-p.m.

5. CHIEF MARSHAL

Qualifications :

• A holder of the post of Deputy Chief Marshal in the Marshal service in the University system and confirmed in that post with not less than five (05) years of satisfactory service in that grade.

Physique –

• Height – 5’ 5”
• Chest – 32” deflated

Note : Preference will be given to those with actively participated in sports activities, social welfare activities and recreation programmes within the University and at national level.

OR

• An Officer not below the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in Sri Lanka Armed Forces/equivalent rank in Sri Lanka Police with active participation in sports activities.

Salary Scale: U-EX 2(II) – Rs.66,180-8X1,335;8X1,630-89,900/-p.m.

All the Educational/Professional qualifications and experience obtained as at the closing date of the applications will only be considered when evaluating the candidates. Application without the copy of the supportive documents for Educational/Professional and Experience will be rejected.

The envelope containing the duly filled application form must bear Title of the Post which you are applied for on its top left hand corner and either hand delivered or sent under registered post to reach the Office of the Deputy Registrar/ Non-Academic Establishments, University of Jaffna, P.O. Box 57, Thirunelvely, Jaffna on or before 26.03.2021.

Applicants from Government Departments, State Corporations and Statutory Bodies should apply through their Heads of respective Institutions. Advance copies of applications may be sent in the first instance. However, no such applicant will be considered for appointment if the application routed through the Head of Department is not received.

Incomplete and illegible applications and applications that are received after the closing date will be rejected without intimation.
